Masterbatch
Masterbatch is a concentrated mixture of additives or colorants encapsulated within a carrier polymer, presented in granular form, and used to impart desired color, functionality, or performance characteristics to plastic raw materials. The carrier polymer is typically selected to be compatible with the main resin being processed (e.g., PP-based masterbatch for polypropylene applications).
In addition to colorants, masterbatches may contain functional additives such as UV stabilizers, antistatics, flame retardants, and slip agents. During production, masterbatch is blended with either original or recycled raw materials at defined ratios to ensure consistent and homogeneous properties in the final product.
Masterbatch is widely used in the industry due to its ease of processing and precise additive dosing capabilities.
